After 73 Years, Legendary Palm Restaurant
Makes Broadway Debut

After 73 years, New York’s legendary Palm Restaurant opened on Broadway on Monday, July 26. A celebrated New York tradition since 1926, the newest branch of the steak house. The restaurant, which joins the original east side Palm and Palm Too in Manhattan, will be the eighteenth in the international chain.

“The west side Palm will differentiate itself in some ways from the Second Avenue restaurants, with 1,200 square feet of caricature walls, a more spacious dining room of 9,400 square feet, and a large bar area, but will stay true to the original in its prime-aged steak-and-lobster-heavy menu.”
Alfred L. Thimm, Jr., Chief Operating Officer of the Washington, DC-based Palm Management Corporation

The company has been searching for a suitable mid-town location on the westside for years. “Having a Palm in the heart of the New Times Square district allows us to serve both the theater community and one of Manhattan’s fastest-growing and dynamic neighborhoods,” Thimm commented. “The Palm is looking forward to bringing its 26-year national expansion back to New York where it all started.”

The Palm Restaurant, founded in 1926, is a third generation family-owned restaurant company. Famous for its prime-aged steaks and jumbo lobsters, the company currently enjoys a loyal customer base across the nation in the following cities, Atlanta, Boston, Cancun, Charlotte, Chicago, Coral Gables, Dallas, Denver, East Hampton, Hedges Inn, Houston, Huntting Inn, James Lane Cafe, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Los Angeles-downtown, Mexico City, Miami, Nashville, New York Palm One, New York Palm Too, New York West Side, Northbrook, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Antonio, San Juan, Tampa Bay, Troy, Tysons Corner, Washington, DC. Coming Soon:  Atlantic City, 2005 San Diego.

Regular customers include such notaries as former president George Bush, Larry King, Brian Dennehy, Kathleen Turner, and Mark McGwire, among many others.
